1. Tyres & Spare
Check tyre condition, pressure, and alignment. Carry at least one full-size spare. Consider all-terrain tyres for better grip on rocky roads.

Get the engine serviced. Top up or replace engine oil, coolant, and brake fluids. Cold weather can affect engine performance.
3. Brakes & Suspension
Make sure your brakes respond well and suspension is solid – Ladakh roads are rough and unpredictable.
4. Battery & Lights
Test the battery health. Roads can get foggy or dusty, so make sure headlights, fog lamps, and brake lights are working well.

Cross the Atal Tunnel and drive to Jispa. Rest and acclimatize. Stay in hotel or camp.
Day 3: Jispa to Shinkula Pass to Kurgiak
Drive through Darcha to Shinkula Pass (16,615 ft) and enter the Zanskar region. Reach Kurgiak village. Very remote – no mobile network. Basic homestay or camping.
Day 4: Kurgiak to Padum
Short drive to Padum, the main town in Zanskar. Explore local monasteries and culture.
Day 5: Padum to Jispa
Return via same route, crossing Shinkula Pass again. Reach Jispa by evening.
Day 6: Jispa to Manali
Easy drive back through Atal Tunnel. Relax and explore Manali if time permits.
Day 7: Manali to Delhi
Return to Delhi by evening/night.
